The title may seem strange, but the idea is totally pg-13. I think we should make the dead body perk act as a chest which allows the body to be looted much like a chest. This prevents items from despawning or burning in lava. This could also be turned into a new perk which locks your dead body allowing you to use /back if you have the command or just finding it again without the worry of someone stealing the items. Overall, it make a somewhat useless perk much more useful, and helps reduce the amount of anger from having all of you items burn because of falling into lava.
Honestly, this isn't a bad idea at all. especially since it seems the 1.13 update bugged the despawn rate from 5mins to 2mins. You've got my vote.
sounds like a decent idea but some problems could come up: -it should be auto toggled off / disable the locking feature in /warp pvp (and maybe in the wild as well?) -it should work like the gravestone mod, in which if you fall into the void, your body spawns at y level 0 with a block of dirt or something under it
