Today, when I logged on, my ping was crazy and I just assumed that it was due to the event and would dissipate in a few hours--I was wrong. It actually got worse in the next hour or two to the point where i got disconnected and tried connecting again about 5 times and every time it either flashed my logout location then gave me the simple message, "disconnected" or it said the same message at the "Loading Terrain" screen. I then waited for 2 hours and hoped that when the online accounts reduced the ping may also reduce. Before I connected again I restarted my router and nothing seemed to make a difference, even if the online members decreased, which leads me to believe this may not be the event at all. I am still hoping to get the event picture, but if I'm unable to connect for longer than five minutes without be disconnected, it's going to be impossible to do before the event ends, any help would be appreciated as even simple things may lead to new information. I'm also wondering whether or not anyone else is suffering from this extreme ping. My ping is at 250-500 max, but today my ping never dipped below 900 and at the most reached 3000( at least from what I have seen, it may have gone up since i'm unable to connect without my connection be terminated).
I'm not sure what's causing this? Are you having trobble with any other servers? Nothing has really changed after we added the event...
I'm pretty sure it's my internet as i'm currently using a different router then I ussaly use and because of that, it probably has like 2 times to 3 times the devices connected to it compared to the one I use most of the time. I'll try disconnecting some of the devices that don't need it and see if it makes a difference. All other servers on the list are having slow connection times as well so it has to be something with either my internet provider or the reason I mentioned above. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't the server before I go crazy and disconnect some devices.
Jordan decreased the network compression threshold to 64 This should help your connection in general, please let us know if it doesn’t make a difference Or if it makes it better or worse.
actually it made it better, I was just happy it worked and really didn't wonder about it anymore xD. sorry for late response
