In my experience on other sites I have played on (I know each server got their own rules) you don't ban people for toxicity, I would not mind giving this guy (No clue who it really is) a long mute or perm muted with a unban. No clue as I have said how bad the toxicness was but just my opinon.
Toxicity is a very broad term we use, as it cover many things. in this case, dorien1st has a extremely long history which also extends way before the punishment database. Players who show a pattern of toxic behavior. Yes, most are chat offensives as you can see. Although a mute would be helpful to his issue of breaking chat rules, it will not completely block him from yet committing other offences and I'd rather not baby sit someone who cannot simply follow rules. He is perm banned because staff has grown tired of dealing with repetitive toxic behavior. "Players who are considered detrimental to the community will be removed without further consideration. If you can’t contribute positively, you will be considered toxic to the player base and be removed."
Well I guess you got signs to write with, and /mail works with /mute, think towny chat and nation doesn't impact mute either.
Dorien was one of my best friends on the server. He was one of the main reasons why I was anchored down to the server. He joined the server two days after me and joined the same town as me and built his plot right next to mine saying, "Of course I want to live in this plot, it's right next to the nicest looking one in the town!" After that, we became friends and were helping PandaCandi to rebuild her precious town and he was the hardest working one out of all of us. He created blueprints and doing a lot of manual work to realize the dreams of our town and do his best for the community. We eventually moved in together and that's where he made the well-known bar, Sleepy Brews. There he invited people over for free alcohol and had a bunch of laughs with them. He tried his best to benefit the community and make being on the server a pleasant experience. Sure he had some jokes that went too far, but I feel like he has more than made up with it with the positivity he spread. The only reason why the staff mainly don't see this is that they're too busy working only with problems. Which don't get me wrong, it is needed. But Dorien is just being shed in the wrong light is all. Thank you for your time
Of what I have seen forum appeals can take along time sometimes unfortunetly (One appeal took about a month and a half), I still don't see a problem personaly of unbanning you with a mute instead. As I said "You don't ban people for toxicity" and it's the staff's job to moderate the chat no matter what.
