If it's not off topic because it's off topic, then wouldn't that mean it technically doesn't exist because those terms are incompatible?

 

Well, it would exist but,like you said the "terms are incompatible", like a double negitive goes positive.

 

But the rules of grammar don't apply to the rules of matter, do they?

 

How does a off-topic forum qualify as matter?

 

It occupies the space of this forum, yes?

Or should we use the term "existence" rather than "matter"?

Well there is definity no real matter here, since this is digital. Existence would be a good term Yes.

 

Can I just start by saying forums 'off topic' means it's off topic from the general topic. The general topic is minecraft/server/game related things. Anything that doesn't fall into that category is therefore 'off topic'.

If an off topic thread is made in the off topic forum section, then technically it's on topic. However, whatever that thread contains [e.g. cookies] will be off topic.

So technically, the thread itself is on topic. But the content of the thread is off topic?

 

The content and the title of the thread are one and the same, because the title is generated to match the content contained in the thread itself.

The thread is off topic, as would be the comments comprising it. It can't be on topic because it's in the "off topic" section.
