There should be a separate chat channel instigated into the server which links discord and mc together. This might allow players to chat directly to staff who are on discord without staff being online. To be completely honest, Teamspeak is kind of boring and complicated to use, so a Discord server will definitely make things easier (if that's what you're talking about, of course).
