Hey, I'm a long-time DifferentCraft player. I used to play a couple years ago, as furyvirgo4926. Coming back, I noticed the server, at first seemed a lot better. The staff were friendly to me and I easily found a town and started saving up for my own town. However, I believe a problem exists with hypocracy and contradiction with staff and how they follow and execute the rules of this server. - I accidentally say "hell" in chat and I'm scolded to stop cursing because there's "young kids playing" and moments later the staff start talking about smoking weed, as if that's more apropriate. - It doesn't make sense that staff are allowed to insult and harass players because they have different political views than players, but players have to simply take it and move on. - This highlights a larger underlying problem: freedom of speech and constructive criticism seem to be completely forbidden, despite not being stated in the rules - Also highlights how the rules are extremely vague and don't state the rights of staff vs citizens and how they differ All I'm asking from this is to please be more specific in stating server rules, and if they differ or not based on your staff/rank. I'd also like to know why constructive criticism of the server seems to be forbidden, when the literal definition of constructive criticism is to criticize in order to benefit and help something in the long-run. Now don't get me wrong: I understand the difference between flat-out insulting the server and criticizing it, but I don't think the staff of this server do, or there is something in the rules that isn't stated properly. One more point I'd like to bring up is that, yesterday I logged on with a friend and tested something out. I intentionally "tp killed" the friend, then after I had the friend type in chat that he was fine with it and he had no problem with the "tp killing" incident (it wasn't actual tp killing we just played out a scene in chat to make it look like it) and despite the friend's consent to pvp, the mere mention of "tp killing" by another player caused chat to go into a frenzie and my account to get repeatedly kicked off the server. Hello To explain a few of your points to you, there are server rules for a reason when I was online today you seemed to have a problem with the rules. The rules are there to keep people happy and keep things fair from player to player. Staff ranks don’t make a difference to the rules, staff and players should follow the rules alike, a staff rank doesn’t give them any power or ability to be “above the rules” and this shouldn’t be happening in game the rules are there for Staff aswell they should follow them or they will be punished as any other player. As for the freedom of speech this is a privately owned server and we do not wish to have certain views expressed in chat. And we are always open to criticism that’s why I’m responding to your post.
