Hi I'm procrastinating right now and have nothing better to do. So to make myself useful, I've decided to write this introduction. In the server, my name is Jinshil. I know, weird name right? But it has an unusual backstory. My previous name was KimJongHaeon, like the dictator of North Korea. However, a few months after I had made that account the North Korea nuclear tests began... bad timing. I'm usually not very creative at making these names, so when deciding on what I should call myself next, I literally opened the Korean textbook right next to me and Romanized the first word of the page. 진실, Truth, and pronounced as Jinshil. My name is Haeon Oh, and I am a 17-year-old currently attending high school. As per the aforementioned statement, I'm a South Korean, born in the Port city of Busan, but not raised. At the age of 3, due to my Father's job, I emigrated to Jakarta, the Republic of Indonesia in South East Asia, where I have been living ever since. I attend a prestigious high school called Jakarta International School, taking part in the International Baccalaureate Program (IB) where I focus mostly on the study of International Politics and History. These two subjects interest me greatly, prompting me to apply for Universities that compliment these academic fields, such as the University of Chicago and Columbia University which I really hope I’ll be able to attend. I am also very active in extracurricular activities provided by my school. Due to my interest and talent in Politics, I have risen up the ranks and was picked to lead my school’s MUN team, where I have attended 4 MUN conferences in 3 different subcontinents. I also try to be as athletic as possible, participating in sports such as Badminton, Track, and Cross Country. These are some facts about me. - Music has always been an integral part of my life, mostly due to my parents introducing me to the piano and viola when I was around 5 years old. My favorite musical genres include K-Pop, K-Hip Hop, the occasional EDM, and anything Coldplay. - As you can see by the intro, I am a world-class procrastinator. There are instances where I would be awake for over 30 hours to finish a school assignment that is due on the same day. I know, not very healthy. - I speak a total of 4 languages, which include Korean, Indonesian, Spanish, and English. - I absolutely love watching TV Shows, both Korean and International. My favorites include Goblin (Korean), Narcos, Game of Thrones, Suits, and of course, Rick and Morty. This addiction to TV is probably what gave me my bachelor's degree in procrastination. - I used to be an avid gamer, but due to time constraints, I am not able to play as much. I love historical strategy games such as the Total War series and Europa Universalis, but also games such as Bioshock Infinite, Counter-Strike, and League of Legends. I realize this introduction is quite long…. I’ll just conclude by saying that I’m relatively active on TS and Minecraft, so just shoot me a message if you want to talk about anything.
Welcome to the forums! I think you'll find yourself among quite a few procrastinators here You definitely seem like quite the busy individual, but it's great how active you are in different areas!
